‘Thuppakki’ is getting shape really fast, one has to mention. Director AR Murugadoss, who normally takes time to finish his films, is shaping up the Vijay-starrer on a quick track and 60 per cent of the shooting is over so far.

“Four songs and a few talkie portions remain to be shot, which we will be able to be doing soon,” says Murugadoss, who's planning to start out the Hindi version of the movie (with Akshay Kumar within the lead), by August.

‘Thupaki’ would has been completed by this time, if there has been no break within the shooting. The tussle between the producers and workers halted the shooting schedule for some time, leading to the movie’s delay.

Being produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, ‘Thupaki’ has Kajal Aggarwal as heroine. Buzz is that Vijay is playing a police officer on this action entertainer. Music is being composed by Harris Jayaraj.

Vijay sings for Thuppakki :

In his initial days as actor, Vijay used to croon a song or two in his movies. Born to a vocalist mother, singing came naturally for the actor and the numbers performed by him turned out to be hits. (‘Dodabeta roadu mela…’ and ‘Adada Alamelu…’ are examples)

And now, the Ilayathalapathy is back in his familiar territory. He has crooned for a number in his forthcoming film ‘Thupaki’, in the music of Harris Jayaraj. The recording took place at a studio in Mumbai recently.

“Well… Just tried actor Vijay to sing a party track for Thupaki in Mumbai and he came up with flying colors,” wrote Harris Jayaraj on his microblogging page. Also, director A R Murugadoss has posted a picture of Vijay recording for the track.

‘Thupaki’, an action adventure produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu, has Kajal Aggarwal as heroine. On completing this film, Vijay will start working with Gautham Vasudev Menon for another action thriller, titled ‘Yohan Adhyayam Ondru’

Thuppakki - Murugadoss replaces Antony with Sreekar :

With Thuppakki, Murugadoss teams up with Ilayathalapathy Vijay for the first time and he is currently busy filming for this high action entertainer.

The movie is set in Mumbai and the unit shot the first schedule there, with Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal taking part. Right from the Tamil Ghajini to the recent 7 Aum Arivu, it has always been Antony who edited Murugadoss' films.

Known for his high-tech editing, Antony is much sought-after by most of the Gen Y directors like Gautham Menon and A.L. Vijay. Now, Murugadoss is shifting loyalties and instead of Antony, he is to use the services of veteran editor Sreekar Prasad (Mani Ratnam's favourite) for Thuppakki.

This has raised many eyebrows. Inside sources inform us that Antony had a major tiff with Murugadoss while editing for 7 Aum Arivu.

Reportedly, creative differences cropped up between the two and the first thing the ace filmmaker did when he announced Thuppakki was to replace him with Sreekar Prasad

inauguration ceremony of 'JOS Alukkas'

Exclusive : Vijay attended the inauguration ceremony of 'JOS Alukkas' at Coimbatore today, he was wearing a black suit (Similar to the one in the JOS Alukkas Poster) and looked damn cute. He finished the inaguration and later got into his car and addressed his fans. The roof of the car was opened and he spoke to his fans for a few minutes before leaving the venue. He was present at the venue for only around 15-20 mins. The whole event was telecast live on UTV (A local cable channel in CBE). The was a huge crowd present at the venue and it was a tough task for the police to control them.

Never seen such a huge crowd to c an actor in coimbatore... More than 1,00,000 ppl standing infront of JosAlukkas .. Vijay sir rockssssss
